I've been asked a lot lately when I will be taking "maternity leave" from painting. I figured I should probably publically address this! I will not be taking any more orders from November 1st until further notice. I don't want to give a date when I will return, because I have no idea what life with two kids is about to be like! So me being the impatient person I am just couldn't imagine waiting until 20 weeks to find out what our new baby is, sooooo....we cheated! I had read someone's blog who lives in Texas talk about this independent ultrasound place they went to to find out the gender early. I looked into it and found there was one in Omaha. I booked an appointment at Stork Vision, and we brought the whole family in for the big reveal!

Anyways!!! Long story short, we found out we're having a girl, and I was also given a great opportunity to do some free advertising! I have created a few canvases to display in the store, so here's a look!

So lately life has been so incredibly busy, but I am trying hard not to complain! I love my new job, and I wouldn't trade it right now, but it has definitely made painting a challenge. For those of you who have ordered canvases, I promise they are in the works! Here's a few being shipped out this week:

This one is for a dental office. I just love how it turned out! Damask and pearls=two of my most favorite things! I think I was missing the South when I was coming up with the idea for this one! ;)

It's been quite some time since I've actually posted any new work. It's the end of May, so all you teachers out there know how CRAZY life has been this last month trying to wrap up the school year. Excuses aside, here's a few new ones...

These 12x24 canvases were made to match this bedding that my sweet friend McLaine is using for her daughter's bedroom. I wanted to do something that was somewhat calm since the bedding is so adorably busy! I can't wait to see these in Mattie McLaine's room!

This 12x12 canvas was made for a newlywed couple who are friends of my brother. I know it sounds silly, but I cannot believe these kids are old enough to be getting married! We are currently planning by baby brother's wedding for next May, and I'd be lying if I said I haven't been a little too emotional about it, ha!

So we're celebrating Laineybug's one year anniversary! I picked up a paint brush a year ago and decided to have a go at it, and it's been a great year! I was contacted by this sweet woman, Riki, about making a canvas for a dear friend of hers. She wanted me to make a canvas for the family of a boy who had passed away at three weeks old. November 27th was the year anniversary of his passing, and Riki wanted something special to give the family to celebrate Gabe's life. This verse is the couples' favorite verse, and I was honored to be a part of such a special gift!

**UPDATE--I am LOVING these teacher signs! I think the thing I love the most about them is that every single one is different and really showcases each teacher's personality.

June, July, and August!!! I had a parent give me a sign that said that one year. Still makes me laugh! It's that time of year again though for all of us teachers to start thinking about getting back to our "real world."
